In USSR
*Propaganda was widely used
*For convincing people to support Stalin and others, such as the Communist party
*They were created by the government
(One example is shown above)
*Another example of a propaganda in a slogan, telling Russians to fight against Germans:
Let's go forward, destroy German invaders and throw them out from our Motherland
In Animal Farm
*Propaganda was used by the pigs
*The pigs created a lot of slogans
•such as in the "Seven Commandments", "Four legs good, two legs bad", "All animals are equal"
•also "All animals are equal, but some of them are more equal than the others", "Long Live Napoleon, Long Live Animal Farm"
•and blaming Snowball for the damages in the farm
*Those propagandas were made and created by the pigs, NOT the animals
Is the usage of propaganda in Animal Farm similar to the USSR?
Relationships:
*Government=Pigs *Stalin=Napoleon *Animals=Citizens (e.g. peasants, labor class, etc.)
In Animal Farm, most of the propagandas were made by the pigs, such as the Seven Commandments, Snowball's criminal activity, etc. After the Russian Revolution, the Russian propagandas were also made by the government and especially made for Stalin. And the animals in Animal Farm somehow believed in those propagandas such as "Four legs good, two legs bad", in USSR, a lot of people were convinced by the posters and propagandas, the people who usually believe in these slogans and posters are peasants or the ones who were lack of education. Yes, the propaganda in Animal Farm is similar to the ones in the USSR.
